Internship Spotlight: Building Leaders at Mechdyne
At Mechdyne Corporation, empowering discovery is more than a tagline – it’s a commitment to helping people and organizations overcome technology challenges. From advanced visualization and immersive environments to AV/IT solutions and technical support services, Mechdyne offers customized, cutting-edge technology systems to clients around the world.
This past summer, three bright students joined Mechdyne through the Ignite program. Their experiences highlighted not only the technical aspects of the job, but also the interpersonal and leadership growth that comes from being immersed in a supportive, collaborative culture.
Silvana S. – Mechanical Engineering Major
Silvana entered her internship eager to apply her engineering knowledge in a real-world setting. Through hands-on learning at Mechdyne, she developed her technical skills while also gaining a deeper understanding of communication, leadership, and team dynamics. The experience helped her bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional collaboration, giving her a strong foundation for future roles in the engineering field.

Denise M. – Mechanical Engineering Major
As one of the younger interns, Denise’s experience at Mechdyne was eye-opening and encouraging. She explored the importance of teamwork, especially in the construction side of tech, and learned how to adapt her communication style to different settings. Her time at Mechdyne helped her feel more confident in navigating team environments and clarified how soft skills directly impact technical success.

Michael M. – Informatics Major
Michael’s internship was a powerful introduction to leadership and impact. Guided by supportive supervisors who modeled strong leadership qualities, he quickly realized that being part of a team means more than just completing tasks – it means being seen, valued, and empowered. That motivation pushed him to exceed expectations and take ownership of his role, setting the stage for a meaningful future in tech.

Why It Matters
Mechdyne’s commitment to mentorship and innovation pairs perfectly with Ignite’s mission to spark interest in the systems integration industry. These internships are about more than just gaining experience – they’re about building confident, well-rounded professionals who are ready to lead.
